March Drawing Sampler
Hello, friends!
A happily busy month. Preparation continues for my new on-line class with Craftsy.com. Here is Irwin's Neighborhood Bakery drawn as an example of on-location drawing:

The display coffee roaster at Café Umbria in Seattle's Pioneer Square:

Another group portrait based on several family photos:

When I draw from the obituaries I do no pencil drawing first to allow for some unplanned distortions:

During my Personal Diary Comics class at Gage Academy I had the students draw from three group photos using only blacks, hatching and then ink wash tones:

For the month of April I'm having a show of approximately 20 prints at Irwin's Neighborhood Bakery in Seattle's University district, and I'll be taping my new class at Craftsy.com during the last week of April. From there I'll be flying on to Gainesville, Florida to watch my son graduate college before he begins his pre-law graduate program this fall. Naturally, I'm super proud of Kalen, and those of you who have read my memoirs will know how relieved I am that he followed my advice, "Don't do as I did!"
If you've read either of my memoirs, it'd be groovy if you went to Goodreads and posted a review. Thanks!
Now back to work.
