Chronological Disorder
Hey, there, Sketchers!
I'm lucky that my soon-to-graduate Law School 24-yr-old still likes to hang with his old man although he's so busy in Florida. He said he could use the break and wants to chill with me for a few weeks. He'll be staying with me in my tiny apartment for Christmas.
Here he is making French Toast twenty years ago.
I loved our nightly reading tradition. Books have always been important to both of us.
Snow camping last year on Green River.
I want to clear some space for him while he's here so I'm decluttering. I have several cartons of my first three books that I am willing to part with for super cheap. All three books can be yours for only $45! www.etsy.com/shop/stevenreddy
I'll swaddle your books lovingly in bubble-wrap and cushion them in a sturdy box so they'll arrive pristine with that new book smell. MM-mm. Read the reviews! I ship them fast and securely-packed. I run a tight ship here at Chez Reddy!

Soon after Kalen returns to school I leave for Oslo and London where I'll teach a workshop and create the illustrations for the final chapters of Book #5 (as yet unnamed but with the working title "Chronological Disorder").
At the Nordic Heritage Museum, Seattle.
I'm eager to return from Europe and finish writing and editing my next book. Although it was exciting to have Everyday Sketching and Drawing published and distributed by a big-time New York publisher, I think I'll self-publish this new one. I like the autonomy and control I have doing everything myself. I'm a grass-roots, pull myself up by my own bootstraps kind of artist, I guess, as you know if you've read any of my sketchbook journals. It also feels more personal and directly from me to you.
I spent several days at Moses Coulee Nature Conservancy and loved being away from the city, with no cellphone or social media:

I've been following my own advice and experimenting in my journals, loosening up, drawing without judgment:

Thanksgiving was nice, spent with new friends, mostly artists and therapists. Cool people.
I'm thankful for them, for getting to do what I love, for my terrific son, my health and my partner, Donna.
And I'm thankful for you, my readers, students, and friends.
"I wanna thank you, for lettin' me, be myself, again."
And now, time to sketch,
Steve
