Back In The World
The initial response to my newest book, Everyday Sketching and Drawing: Five Steps to a Unique and Personal Sketchbook Habit. has been very gratifying. Thanks, everyone.

If you have the book, I'd love to hear your feedback. What did you find helpful? Any questions or comments? The publisher has had me on a bit of a promotional junket. Here's a link to an appearance on KING5's New Day:

I've done some book talk/signings at Seattle-area bookstores, such as Third Place Books, and this weekend there was a book-talk at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, followed by an all-day workshop:

It's been fun and gratifying helping sketchers find inspiration to draw more often, and to share some tips and tricks for getting over hurdles and excuses for not drawing more. A plan is forming for book number five: a travel journal similar to Now Where Was I? this time exploring Ireland. At least that's the plan. Have any connections or tips for an extended stay on the Emerald Isle? Please send them my way, as I've never been!
For now I'm happy to be back drawing for myself, illustrating the quotidian minutia that makes up this one idiosyncratic life.

My favorite drawing prompts are, as always, daily life. Here's a "jam" Donna and I drew together at last month's meet-up at Café´Racer. She drew herself and I drew me in this recreation of a conversation we had in the car:

This month I drew some of the weird cluttered decor Café´Racer is known for:

My traveling art show is currently at Herkimer Coffee on Phinney Ridge if you're in the area:

Tomorrow night, Donna and I will be at a taping of Doug Loves Movies. Unless you're familiar with the podcast, this will mean nothing, but here is my "name tag":

Thanks for checking in.
And now, back to work!
