Quick Working Visit to Denver

Shooting the on-line classes couldn't have gone more smoothly. The warm sunny days in Colorado felt like summer; it was an all expenses-paid trip; the crew at the studio were friendly, professional and quick; I shot most of my lessons in one take and it was nice to have Donna along. While I worked, she drew and took in a little sight-seeing.
While I was away, I was contacted by someone who wanted to buy a print of this image:
This quick sketch I did without any pencil-planning or concern for accuracy, almost a doodle, really, has been one of my more popular. Which just goes to remind me I can go in that relaxed, loose direction, even when intuitively I feel pulled to pay more attention to perspective and proportion. (See the rough-draft comic below.)
Donna lost her phone going through airport security, and even though she used Find My Phone and sent the airport a screenshot showing exactly where the phone was, they said they couldn't find it. Is that how TSA agents upgrade their iPhones?
Back in Seattle, with no time to rest, I was back in the classroom subbing:
And then all weekend teaching at the Gage Academy:
It's a little unusual to be quite this busy, and the extra paychecks will be nice, but what I really want is time to focus on my autobiographical comics. Here's the first rough draft of a page I drew last night:
All this running around is catching up to me, as I have a bit of a scratchy throat. A few more days of subbing and I'll be ready to give teaching a rest to stay in the studio for a while.
Thanks for checking in. I'll let you know when the on-line classes go live. If you like what you see and read here, I hope you'll share it with a like-minded friend.
And now, back to work.
Steve
